Despite our excitement and determination to carry out this challenge, we both know that it will be physically, psychologically and, at times, emotionally demanding. There will be moments during September when we will need more than ever to work as a team, supporting each other to complete our tasks and runs. Part of our preparation has been to meet up in different areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty to train together, learning each others strengths and weaknesses. Discussing and dissecting issues such as what to eat and when, what kit and clothing to wear, ideas for suitable scientific measurements and how to carry the measuring equipment.

We have also been talking to all the UK National Parks to find out what projects and initiatives they have underway and to agree dates and times to meet up with their Education Officers.
